Facilities at Sutton Farm

Sutton Farm has a converted barn that can be used as your base for the day. The barn is a safe location to leave any belongings and can also be used as a location for lunch unless you prefer to use one of our grassed areas. Toilets are situated local to the barn which also contains displays about the farm, farming and the countryside. There is an on-site shop that sells a variety of items from pocket money value upwards, sales in the shop help us to keep the price of visits down so please come and browse.

Please click here to see some of the other activities we offer. If you don't see an activity here that suits your school, class or curriculum we are happy to work with you to create a bespoke package.

We are also happy to work with your school to create a bespoke package that matches exactly your teaching and curriculum.

We anticipate that two activities will be chosen and the group class attending being divided into groups, where half do each activity in the morning and then swap over in the afternoon.

As a 700 acre farm getting around on foot can be slow, so when and where possible we will transport you in our ex-Army truck.

Since we are a working farm we would suggest an adult to student ratio of at least 1:5 for the safety of all visitors.

Clothing and Footwear

Sutton Farm is an open air site and a working farm. Please ensure all visitors wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. We also recommend everyone brings a waterproof just in case.

Disabled Access

The nature of Sutton Farm can make disabled access very difficult to several areas. Please contact us to discuss your requirements when bringing disabled visitors.

Risk Assessment

The site is a working farm with uneven pathways, farm machinery and natural landscape. This means some areas have steep slopes and can be slippery we also have 2 reservoirs on site, the larger being fenced off but the smaller is un-fenced and care needs to be taken when visiting this area. Whilst we take every precaution to ensure the safety of your party, the nature of Sutton Farm makes it essential to follow our simple safety guidelines, which will be sent out upon confirmation of booking (or by request prior to booking)
