Learning outcomes: Different uses of land, Respect for private land, knowledge of the Countryside Code.
Content of the visit: Introduction to Countryside Code Students to visit each of the areas detailed above and consider what would happen if there were no access restrictions. (i.e. damage, cost, disruption to farm) Pupils should record their findings and then discuss back at the education centre what controls on access should be introduced and why.
Organisation factors: Wet weather clothing may be needed and footwear appropriate for walking on a farm. Health and safety talk to be given to group on arrival at site.
